Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) Technology
LEC technology is the next generation of electroluminescent light. Replacing older lighting technologies, these lights are the safest, most dependable and most energy efficient available. The LEC lamp lights when the micro-encapsulated solid phosphors are excited by an alternating electrical current (AC). This direct conversion of electric energy to light produces no heat or ultraviolet radiation. There are four main operating components in a LEC lamp. (1) a front electrode layer, (2) a rear electrode layer, (3) a dielectric insulating layer and (4) the micro-encapsulated solid phosphor layer. When an alternating current (standard household AC) is applied to the front and rear (1 and 2) electrode layers of the lamp an electro-magnetic (EM) field is created. This EM field in-turn excites the phosphor layer (4) which produces a luminous energy.

LEC Exit Signs are available in Black or White Housings with high visibility 6 inch green letters. Signs are supplied for top, back or side mounting. Flush and Pendant mounting are also available.

WARRANTY
Exit Sign Warehouse, Inc. guarantees each product to be free from defects to the original purchase for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase. If any component is found to be defective, Exit Sign Warehouse will repair or replace the defective component at their option. The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, abuse, improper environmental conditions, unauthorized modifications or shipping damage. Damage caused by explosions, water leaks, fire, war or acts of God are also not covered.

CONSTRUCTION
Precision molded housing and mounting canopy constructed of impace resistant, UV stable, flame retarding ABS alloy which resists scratching and denting. NFPA field selectable chevrons are provided. Available in Black and White standard finishes.
EMERGENCY OPERATION
A solid state smart charge circuit is provided to increase battery life. The LEC lamp brightness is increased by about 25 percent and will operate for up to 2 hours on the battery system. Push to test switch and an LED test light AC indicator are provided for system testing.
BATTERY
Maintenance free, sealed Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) or Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery packs provide an estimated service life of 10 years with an operating temperature range of 65 degrees F to 85 degrees F.
