Electrical Exit Signs
Exit Signs come in many different types. One of the most popular exit signs on the market is an Electrical Exit Sign.
An Electrical Exit Sign uses AC power to operate and must be hard wired into your electrical system. The electrical exit sign can not be connected using a standard plug and wall outlet. The majority of Electrical Exit Signs all have a battery backup option. This option consists of a battery located in the Exit Sign that is constantly receiveing a charge from the AC Power. In the case of a power outage the battery located within the Exit Sign will turn on and keep the Exit Sign powered for up to 90 minutes to allow visibility for anyone who may need to exit the building. If a building has a back up generator attached then the exit sign may be wired to the back up generator allowing the user to purchase what is called an AC only Exit sign or an exit sign with no battery.
